The Opportunity
Quinn Allan is partnering with a well-established property and aged living business to find an experienced Assistant Accountant for a 12-month fixed-term contract. We have worked closely with this client for several years and can speak firsthand to their welcoming culture and how well they look after their people.
Based in the Brisbane CBD and reporting to the Financial Controller, you’ll be part of a collaborative finance team where your contribution is genuinely valued. The business offers some flexibility to work from home.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Completing bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- Assisting with month-end accounting and reporting
- Preparing journals and other financial accounting tasks
- Assisting with BAS and FBT preparation
- Supporting the annual audit, including audit samples and supporting documentation
- Providing support across accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Keeping financial records accurate, complete and up to date
- Identifying opportunities to improve finance processes
- Assisting with ad-hoc tasks and projects as required
- 3+ years’ accounting experience with a strong grasp of core accounting processes
- A hands-on, practical approach and a willingness to get involved across the finance function
- Strong attention to detail and ownership of your work
- Excellent communication skills
- Proactive and curious, with a genuine interest in how things can be done better
