About the Company
Quinn Allan is partnering with a well-established and growing not-for-profit organisation that delivers essential services across multiple locations and entities.
With a strong reputation within its sector, the organisation continues to invest in its people, systems and operational capabilities. As part of an ongoing finance transformation journey, the business is focused on strengthening processes, embracing technology and building a best-practice finance function.
The culture is collaborative, values-driven and improvement-focused, encouraging employees to contribute ideas, challenge existing ways of working and make a meaningful impact beyond the numbers.
This represents an excellent opportunity to join a purpose-driven organisation at an exciting stage of growth while working alongside an experienced and supportive finance leadership team.

About the Position
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Finance Manager will lead the financial accounting function and take ownership of month-end close, balance sheet integrity, statutory reporting and external audit processes across a multi-entity group.
Leading a team of Financial Accountants, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, compliance and integrity of the organisation's financial information while supporting key reporting, tax and governance obligations.
This opportunity is ideally suited to a Manager from a Big 4 or mid-tier audit firm seeking their first move into industry. The role offers the opportunity to leverage strong technical accounting expertise while gaining broader ownership across financial accounting, statutory reporting, team leadership, systems improvement and finance transformation initiatives.
Beyond traditional financial accounting, you will play an important role in driving automation, improving processes and enhancing the use of technology within the finance function. Working closely with stakeholders across Finance, Operations and Technology, you will help strengthen controls, improve efficiency and contribute to the continued development of the organisation's finance capabilities.

Duties
  • Lead the month-end close process across multiple entities and ensure reporting deadlines are achieved
  • Review and approve journals, accruals, provisions, prepayments and intercompany transactions
  • Manage group consolidations, eliminations and financial accounting activities
  • Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, chart of accounts and financial structures within the ERP system
  • Oversee fixed asset, lease accounting and depreciation calculations
  • Own the balance sheet reconciliation framework and ensure timely review and sign-off of key accounts
  • Investigate and resolve aged, unreconciled or unusual balance sheet items
  • Prepare annual statutory financial statements in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards
  • Coordinate external audit activities and manage relationships with auditors and advisers
  • Support tax compliance activities, including income tax, GST, BAS, payroll tax and FBT requirements
  • Contribute to budgeting, forecasting and cash flow reporting processes
  • Assist with lender, covenant and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Lead automation, systems improvement and finance transformation initiatives
  • Act as the key finance stakeholder for ERP enhancements, reporting improvements and workflow optimisation
  • Identify opportunities to leverage automation and AI tools to improve finance processes
  • Lead, mentor and develop Financial Accountants while promoting accountability and continuous improvement

Experience auditing or advising not-for-profit, health, disability, aged care or community services organisations will be highly regarded, although not essential.
