The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join the business during a significant period of transformation and improvement. The initial focus of the role will be on strengthening financial processes, improving reporting accuracy and enhancing controls across the finance function. This position will suit someone who enjoys working hands-on with the numbers, identifying issues, solving problems and establishing robust financial foundations.
As the finance function continues to mature, the role will broaden into a more commercially focused position, supporting strategic decision-making through insightful analysis and business partnering.

The Role
Reporting to the CFO and working closely with senior finance leadership, key responsibilities will initially include:
- Ownership of month-end reporting and financial close activities
- Preparation and review of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Strengthening financial controls and balance sheet integrity
- Development and maintenance of accurate cash flow forecasts
- Investigation and resolution of historical accounting issues and discrepancies
- Enhancing the quality, consistency and timeliness of financial reporting
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting and planning processes
- Monitoring inventory, margins, working capital and cost performance
- Identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes and reporting
- Supporting finance transformation and business improvement initiatives
- Financial modelling and scenario analysis
- Profitability, cost and margin analysis
- Providing commercial insights to support operational decision-making
- Business partnering across operations, procurement, sales and supply chain functions
- Preparation of business cases and performance improvement recommendations
- Supporting strategic planning and growth initiatives
For success in this role, you will be a technically strong accountant with experience of establishing sound processes and controls.
You will bring:
- CA or CPA qualification
- Strong financial accounting and month-end reporting experience
- Proven experience managing balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls
- Advanced cash flow forecasting capability
- The ability to identify problems, analyse root causes and implement practical solutions
- Strong analytical skills, including advanced Excel capability
- Experience working with ERP and accounting systems
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive, hands-on approach with a continuous improvement mindset
