Quinn Allan is proud to partner with legalsuper, an industry super fund dedicated to serving Australia’s legal professionals, including lawyers, barristers and legal support staff.
Operating under a profit for member and member‑first model, legalsuper reinvests profits into improving member outcomes, retirement services and investment performance, rather than distributing profits to shareholders. The organisation has built a strong reputation as a specialist provider within the legal sector, offering tailored superannuation, retirement, insurance solutions and acting in the members best financial interest.
With a collaborative and purpose‑driven culture, legalsuper is underpinned by values of integrity, transparency and long‑term thinking. The business offers a supportive working environment, flexible arrangements, CA/CPA study support, and a strong focus on professional development as it continues to evolve within a highly regulated financial services landscape.
About the Position
An opportunity has arisen for a Finance Officer to join legalsuper’s Melbourne‑based team. Reporting to the Head of Finance & Reporting, this role sits within a small but evolving finance function and represents a key step in bringing finance operations in‑house.
This is a hands‑on role with a strong operational focus, where approximately 90% of responsibilities relate to transactional finance. You will take ownership of accounts payable, bank reconciliations, general ledger maintenance and journal processing, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and strong financial control and risk mitigation across the organisation.
A key highlight of the role is involvement in a major ERP implementation, transitioning to Acumatica (MYOB). You will play an active role in supporting the rollout, including system learning, process improvement, stakeholder training, and ensuring a smooth transition across the business.
Working closely with internal stakeholders and external administrators, you will act as a key point of contact for finance operations, requiring strong communication skills and attention to detail. As the finance function continues to mature, there will also be opportunities to expand into broader financial accounting responsibilities over time.
Duties
To be successful in this role, you will be a detail‑oriented and proactive finance professional with strong transactional experience and an interest in developing your broader accounting skill set within a regulated environment.
You will enjoy working in a hands‑on role, take pride in accuracy and controls, and be confident engaging with stakeholders across the business.
