A well-established and growing business within the civil construction sector is seeking a hands-on Management Accountant to join their team in a broad and varied role supporting the CFO.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working across the full finance function within a small business environment where no two days are the same. You’ll play a key role in the day-to-day running of finance, while also contributing to process improvement and commercial support across the business.

You’ll play a key role in the day-to-day running of finance, while also contributing to process improvement and commercial support across the business.
About the role
Reporting directly to the CFO, your responsibilities will include:
- Preparation of monthly management reports
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Month-end close processes and journals
- Balance sheet reconciliations and adjustments
- Cashflow reporting
- Assisting with payroll, AP/AR and general finance operations as required
- Supporting system improvements and process efficiencies
- Ad hoc financial analysis and reporting
About you
To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring:
- Previous experience in a Management Accountant or similar role
- Strong systems and Excel capability
- A proactive, hands-on approach with a willingness to roll up your sleeves
- Ability to work autonomously in a small team environment
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Experience within construction, infrastructure, engineering or project-based environments will be highly regarded
- Broad role with exposure across the full finance function
- Direct mentorship and support from an experienced CFO
